Good to know: Your account is created automatically when you install the app for your store. No additional registration or account creation is required. The app links to your existing store account to save your carrier configurations. Just install the app, and you're ready to go.

1. Add pickup points

  1. After installing the app, open it in your store dashboard

  2. Click the “Add carrier” button and select a carrier you want to configure

  3. You will be taken to a carrier configuration screen where you can set shipping rates and conditions for all delivery countries supported by the carrier

  4. Save the carrier when ready

Good to know: Pickup points will only appear if orders meet the configured conditional pricing rules, fit within the dimensions of the carrier's locker compartments (when “Dimensional rates” are enabled), and are within a 10 km radius from the delivery address.

2. Turn on ShipWisely rate provider

  1. Navigate to the “Shipping and Delivery” settings in your store admin and either create a new shipping profile or edit an existing one to include the pickup countries you have configured for ShipWisely

  2. For each shipping zone (country) add the ShipWisely shipping rates provider:

    1. Click “Add rate”

    2. For the rate type select “Use carrier or app to calculate rates”

    3. Select “ShipWisely Shipping Rates” in the dropdown

    4. Make sure to select “Automatically show new shipping services to customers when they become available” This ensures pickup point locations are displayed to customers based on their order details and delivery address

    5. Save

Good to know: To use third-party carrier-calculated shipping, you must be on the Shopify Advanced or Shopify Plus plan. If you're currently on the Shopify plan, then you can opt for the monthly fee to add this feature or switch to yearly billing. Third-party carrier-calculated shipping isn't available on the Basic Shopify or Shopify Starter plans.

3. Verify integration

  1. Open your store, add any physical product <30 kg into your shopping cart and proceed to checkout

  2. Fill in a delivery address for one of the configured destination countries that you intend to support

  3. Verify that pickup point options are listed under the “Shipping method” section. If the delivery options are not visible, ensure you have met any configured conditional pricing rules, entered the correct delivery address, and that it is within a 10 km range of pickup points

Good to know: Shopify employs caching to reduce the number of requests. Shipping rate requests with identical fields – such as variant IDs, shipping box weight and dimensions, variant quantities, origin address, destination address, item weights, and signatures – are retrieved from the cache. New rates are retrieved if any field varies or the cache has expired. The cache expires after 15 minutes.

If you update your shipping configuration (rates, conditional pricing, etc.), Shopify’s caching system may delay the display of updated rates. To test the changes immediately, use a different address at checkout or wait for 15 minutes.

Optional: Enable dimensional rates

Dimensional rates allow ShipWisely to dynamically calculate shipping rates based on the weight and size of each order. This feature is highly recommended for all stores, as it ensures customers see accurate rates for their orders while preventing the display of pickup options for oversized orders.

Key Benefits:

  • Accurate Shipping Rates: Each carrier has specific rates based on parcel locker compartment sizes. By enabling dimensional rates, the system automatically selects the lowest applicable rate for the order’s weight and dimensions

  • Smarter Pickup Options: Pickup point delivery options are shown only for orders that fit within parcel lockers. This reduces after-sales support and avoids confusion for customers

This feature streamlines shipping management while improving transparency and customer satisfaction.
